Supporting an Education Association Through Strategic Communications

MAASE, the Michigan Association of Administrators of Special Education, serves education leaders across Michigan through professional learning, advocacy, member services, and leadership development.

To support these efforts, MAASE relies on clear, consistent communication across a variety of channels. I partnered with the organization to develop and manage content that informed members, promoted initiatives, and strengthened engagement throughout the year.

The Challenge

Like many associations, MAASE communicates with a diverse audience through multiple touchpoints, each serving a different purpose and audience need.

MAASE needed communications that:

  • Clearly explained programs, services, and member benefits

  • Maintained consistency across channels

  • Supported event promotion and member engagement

  • Reduced complexity while preserving important information

  • Reinforced the organization's professional voice and brand

The Approach

I provided ongoing communications support across a wide range of content and marketing initiatives, helping ensure members received clear, relevant, and actionable information.

This included:

  • Email marketing and member communications

  • Social media content and campaign support

  • Presentation and PowerPoint development

  • Communication templates and messaging frameworks

  • Website and digital content

  • Program and event promotion

  • Executive and leadership communications

  • Content editing and message refinement

The focus was on creating systems and content that made communication more effective, scalable, and consistent across the organization.

The Results

The resulting communications helped support member engagement, increase awareness of organizational initiatives, and strengthen the overall member experience.

By establishing clear messaging and consistent content across email, social media, presentations, and digital channels, MAASE was better positioned to communicate its value, promote key programs, and maintain meaningful connections with members throughout the year.
