100 Years, Everywhere: Inside the 2026 GCSAA Conference & Trade Show
For all the large numbers associated with the 2026 GCSAA Conference and Trade Show in Orlando, one of the most meaningful was also one of the simplest: 100.
While the event was defined by metrics that reached into the thousands and beyond, the number 100, marking the centennial anniversary of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, was the thread that tied the entire experience together. Across the Orange County Convention Center and throughout the city, the Centennial theme was embedded into nearly every aspect of the event.
From large-scale environmental branding to immersive activations on the trade show floor, the Centennial identity shaped how attendees moved through and experienced the week. The influence extended beyond the convention center as well, including the Tuesday night celebration at ICON Park, where thousands of attendees gathered for a milestone moment centered on community, industry, and partnership.
The Scope
For the 2026 Conference and Trade Show, I supported the planning and execution of event-wide Centennial integration across both the convention center environment and off-site activations.
The scope included coordination across multiple event layers, including trade show floor experience design, attendee flow, environmental branding, and alignment of Centennial messaging throughout the venue. With thousands of attendees moving through the space at peak times, the experience required careful attention to layout, pacing, and visibility to ensure the Centennial story was consistently present without disrupting operational flow.
A major component of the scope was the Centennial Experience brand activation on the Trade Show Floor, a 16,000-square-foot walkthrough exhibit highlighting 100 years of GCSAA history. The installation required coordination of artifact placement, timeline storytelling, and traffic management to support continuous engagement throughout the week.
Additional responsibilities included supporting integration of Centennial branding across signage, partner activations, and key event moments, as well as alignment with off-site programming at ICON Park.
The SOLUTION
The Centennial strategy centered on creating a unified experience that connected education, celebration, and industry engagement across every touchpoint of the conference.
On the Trade Show Floor, the Centennial Experience was designed as a walkable timeline, combining historical artifacts with milestone storytelling to create an immersive journey through the association’s evolution. The layout encouraged natural movement while allowing attendees to pause, reflect, and engage with decades of industry history.
Across the broader event, Centennial branding was woven into signage, wayfinding, and environmental design to reinforce continuity between spaces. This approach ensured that whether attendees were in education sessions, networking areas, or the exhibit hall, the Centennial narrative remained consistently present.
At ICON Park, the Centennial Celebration extended the experience beyond the convention center, integrating community, industry, and partnership support through custom restaurant takeovers, branded environments, and large-scale entertainment programming. This off-site activation created a shared space for attendees to connect in a more informal, celebratory setting.
THE Outcome
The Centennial integration helped define the 2026 GCSAA Conference and Trade Show as a cohesive, experience-driven event centered on 100 years of industry progress.
More than 12,820 attendees participated in the conference, reflecting continued year-over-year growth. The trade show featured 523 exhibitors and 178,600 square feet of sold space, while 8,074 seminar seats were filled, marking the highest education participation since 2008.
The ICON Park Centennial Celebration brought together more than 4,400 attendees for an evening focused on connection and industry partnership, while the Centennial Experience on the Trade Show Floor remained one of the most engaged-with features of the week.
Across every environment, the Centennial theme served as a unifying thread that connected attendees not just to the history of GCSAA, but to each other and the future of the industry.
