Learning the Trade Show Business at a Global ScaleVENT OVERVIEW
Shortly after graduating, I joined Garmin’s traveling trade show and event marketing team. It was my first deep exposure to large-scale event marketing, and it shaped my career.
The Scope
My role included planning and executing trade shows and sales engagement events across Garmin’s five major business segments:
Fitness
Outdoor
Aviation
Marine
Automotive OEM
Responsibilities included advance planning, site visits from Garmin’s global headquarters in Olathe, Kansas, and on-site execution at major industry events such as:
Boston Marathon
EAA AirVenture
Outdoor Retailer
Miami International Boat Show
SHOT Show
The Outcome
This experience built the foundation for everything that followed. Large-scale events demand discipline, preparation, and accountability. That mindset still drives how I approach event work today.
